Is Al Anderson touring with the Wailers? Looks like he might have dropped out. What’s the story?

Well looks like he has left the Wailers - I have always been a fan of Al Andersons and recently saw him jamming around with his new group in Santa Monica.  They sounded great had a really roots and now music sound going - great vibes.  Am sure they will be on the road real soon and probably playing places like Colorado, New York , Virginia etc same places as the Wailers have played no doubt. Well worth catching!

I actually was lucky enough to hang out on the bus with Familyman and his daughter at the Boise Idaho show in May of ‘08. I asked that same question, and he told me that they still play with Al, but for this tour he was playing with another band touring with them. I can’t remember who, but think it was someone else famous Classic Rock Genre. I was thinking the same thing, but had to give the guitarist who has be covering much respect for being so young fitting in great and holding his own with the timeles classics that the Wailers play.

I hear he never took a break from Wailers but left for good because of disputes. I see from pollstar he is touring with a new version called the original wailers featuring earl wya lindo and junior marvin. dates are up on the web.

The story with Al is he will not be playing with this group anymore - he left the group earlier this year.

Al has formed his own group “The Original Wailers” with Junior Marvin on lead vocals - check them out on myspace.com/originalwailers - they are beyond fantastic1
